On March 28, 2025, Myanmar (Burma) was struck by a devastating earthquake of 7.7 magnitude on the Richter scale. The death toll has surpassed 4,400, with thousands more injured and many more still unaccounted for. The situation is dire due to damaged infrastructure, power outages, critical shortages of medical supplies, clean water, and shelters, the lack of sufficient machines/equipment to clean up the rubbles and dead bodies, and further risks from persisting aftershocks.
